Minor Drowns In Water Pan as he fetched Water In Murug-Harun, Eldas Constituency,Wajir County

 A form four leaver drowned while trying to fetch water from a water pan at Murug- Harun village in Tulatula, Wajir county Bay, on Wednesday this morning.

The 23-year-old boy was in the company of his other friends drawn inside when he decided to drink water from the pan.

According to the assistant chief of the area, Ibrahim, the boy try to fetch water for the family but unfortunately he slips over deep and cross over from one side of the pan when he lost  balance and fell in the water.

His friends rushed back home to inform their father, but locals who rushed to the scene only managed to retrieve the body. 

Area chief express concern challenges they face when such incident happened saying the government should fastrack to recruit divers to help when such calamity occurs.

The body was taken to deceased family for burial ceremony.

Residents urged relevant authorities to fence the pan to minimise accidents in future.

They expressed fears that the pan could be turned into a dumping site for dead bodies.

The pan was initially fenced but some unknown people pulled it down without clear reason.

Grief has engulfed in the village, it's now less a month four such accident was witnessed in Wajir county.
